West End FC 2

Dinas Powys 0

TRAVELLING down the M4 with six first teamers missing due to injuries, work and holiday, this was always going to be a big ask.

Dinas certainly can hold their heads up with the display they produced. Having to change their shape due to the personnel available the performance just lacked a natural goal scorer.

The first half saw the home side have the better chances but the back four of Marr, Provis, Morgan and Banguraso coped very admirably.

The middle three really dug in and Bashir, James and Garland were starting to win their battles as the game wore on.

Carlos Indjai and Sam Johnson always looked a threat wide and it felt like it was only a matter of time before Dinas opened the scoring.

Going in at the break nil nil, Dinas started the second half in a very positive mood coming out on the front foot.

But the travelling team were dealt a cruel blow when the ref allowed a moving ball at a free kick to stand and the home side number nine was very alert and capitalised on this scoring past Perks.

That moment was the turning point of the game as Dinas were forced to chase the game more. West End scored their second late on.

The Villagers must take the positives from this match as everyone really fought and played for each other.
