Dinas Wolves U-12s 4

DINAS Wolves Under-12s continued their fine form with a convincing victory on Saturday on their travels.

The visitors knew it would be a battle and would have to earn the right to play but they soon managed to settle down and control the tempo of the game.

Booker, Saunders and Hewitson linked up well early on to show they are a danger to any team when they move the ball around.

Booker opened the scoring after Saunders was fouled outside the box rifling home a powerful free kick.

Williams, Lewis and Mallum didn't look too troubled as they coped with the long balls and gave the midfield a platform to work off.

Morris was called in to action mid way through the first half but again dealt with it very well showing a safe pair of hands.

Making changes every 15 minutes O'brien, Frost, Quest and Moss showed their qualities by not diving in and showing their players where they wanted them to go and nicking the ball back countless times.

Moss and Williams offer so much protection to Booker as they both are developing into fine defenders.

Harewood was asked to play a deeper role in the first half and alongside Fifield and Doughty.

The three really broke up the play in the middle.

Pereira and Quest put a great shift in down the left hand side which allowed O'brien and Mallum time and space on the ball to play out from the back.

At the break the away side were given simple instructions on how to attack and pushing Harewood higher allowed the forwards to press high.

This resulted in two very fast goals from Hewitson and a screamer from Booker killing the game off.

The way Dinas went about the final 20 minutes showed how hard they train and listen as they saw the game out and added a fourth from the hard working Harewood.

Hewitson, Saunders, Booker, Doughty and Frost all came close to adding more goals but it wasn't to be.

Fifield may be the smallest lad, may be the quietest lad on the park but the skipper marshalled his team like a giant in the second half.

Well done lads not a classic but showed their is more to our game than just a good footballing team. Man of the match Lewis and Mallum.
