SULLY Sports wish to thank all their supporters and players for the weekend fixture when they welcomed Llandrindod Wells.

Congratulations on a great team effort from all players on securing a hard fought win against league leaders Llandrindod Wells.

As anticipated this was a match waiting to happen, two hard teams who love spreading the ball. No quarter given, no inches gained in this match right from kick off. JOHN THOMAS recovered their own kick and went on the rampage backed up by the rest of the pack. Possession was then fed to the back who showed a new vigour and want for the ball, challenging the gain line every time.

Fierce defence and turnovers from the visitors ensured Sports had to work hard to cross the try line, but indeed patience has been the call all season, duly rewarded by a try from Jake Williams. The visitors showed why they are top of the league by throwing the ball around precision kicking, but as Sports mounted attack after attack and the hard work from the forward and Curtis Miller having an outstanding game. A penalty try was awarded, duly converted by Jake Williams. However not to be out done the visitors got their selves on the scoreboard with two well worked tries.

This making for an entertaining second half.

Sports took a while to get into this half, but started to build momentum and patterns seemed to emerge with strong runs from the backs and forwards. A delight to watch from the side-lines and many complementary words had been heard, all encouraging to the coach and players.

Not to be out done from the first whistle JOHN THOMAS managed to get on the end of a good driving maul to secure a well worked try. The game then flowed between both teams trying to kill off the game and secure a win. Again Sports showed some vision and skill, picking the ball from their own 22, Damion Huggins went on a darting run. However no more was added to the score and Sports held on for a well deserved win 17-10.

Next week sees a Cup match at home, followed by League action away to Cathays.
