STANWELL School pupils Alexandra Slack, Christopher Slack, Max Baker and Emma Squire recently competed in the Welsh Karate League Finals at Cogan Leisure Centre.

In the League there are a series of nine competitions held throughout the year, at which competitors earn points for first, second, and third places in all the categories.

At the end of the season, these points are tallied up to show the top three champions throughout the year.

Christopher Slack and Max Baker took bronze in the team kumite, with Christopher also winning a silver medal for parent and child kata.

In the Under-16 category, Alexandra Slack and Emma Squire won gold in pair’s kata, with Alexandra winning the bronze medal in the individual open kata and Emma gaining a second place in the overall kumite.
