SULLY Centurions First XI entertained Lisvane at Burnham Avenue and gave the third placed side a scare before finally losing by three wickets.

Batting first, Centurions opening pair of Santosh Singh and Sandeep Shokeen put on 72 for the first wicket when Santosh was caught off the bowling of Curzon for 40. Prashant Choudhary and Sandeep continued the good work with a partnership of 42 before Prashant fell to Course for 19.

Stand in skipper Owain Sullivan hit an entertaining 20, including a six, but his main contribution was to stick with Sandeep as he continued to accumulate runs – the pair sharing a stand of 64 for the fifth wicket.

Sandeep fell victim to a run out in the final over, just one run short of his century, as Centurions finished on 207 for seven.

Lisvane lost opener Morgan for 10, caught by Sullivan off Santosh with the score on 23. However the visitors continued to accumulate runs and were looking comfortable at the half way stage on 100 for three.

Reddivari (34) and Turner (75) shared a half century stand for the fourth wicket before a determined effort from Sully brought more wickets. But with seven batsmen already back in the pavilion, Lisvane held their nerve to reach the target in the 43rd over.
