The 6mile race, which formed part of the club championship, was a multi-terrain route featuring two miles of steep hills, two miles of undulating gradual hills, then a severe two mile descent along a roman road through the forest.

Run in drizzly conditions and a slight wind, combined with the treacherous terrain and energy sapping hills, it was a tough run for the club members.

It was a hugely successful run for the club, with two of the men in the top 10, all of the men in the top 50, and of the women winning her age category.

Richard Jackson-Hookins was the first Penarth runner to cross the finish line in 5th place overall in 40.33.

Ian Warburton was 30th in 47.04.

Chris Seal was 36th in 47.58.

Rob Wilcox was 49th in 50.41.

Debbie Evans, who was first in her age category after being the first lady home overall last year, finished in 52.02.

Louise Hunt was next up but has been missed off the provisional results after a mix-up.
