DINAS Powis Golf Club held the annual Club Championship recently. With three divisions depending on handicap playing two medal rounds.
With the last eight going into a matchplay format the following were successful:
Division 1 (h,cap 0-9) Dale Sullivan beat Julian Rees.
Division 2 (10-18) John Bridle beat Gary Young.
Division 3 (19-28) Colin Thomas beat Mike Perrin.
Sullivan became Club Champion for the fourth time in five years which is a remarkable achievement.
Club stalwart Thomas was a popular winner after many years at the club.
Last Saturday, the Croft Rose Bowl competition took place and the result was as follows:
1st Luke Davidson (h,cap 13) Net 65 - on count back.
2nd Cedric Hart (h,cap 12) Net 65.
3rd Lewis Davies (h,cap 9) Net 66.
Fifteen-year-old Davidson, son of former club champion Paul played superbly and added this title to the Sir Joseph Davies Cup a few weeks ago.
The club is continually looking for new members and a warm welcome awaits those of all abilities to join.
