THE Sully Spartans Cricket Club travelled to Cross Keys totally focused on gaining as many points as they could and in the end it would turn out to be a fruitful day.

Winning the toss Sully skipper Morgan elected to bat, despite the pitch having a green tint to it, but it would turn out to be the right decision.

Father and son Rod and Chris Howe opened the batting for the Spartans and took the score to a solid 72 before Howe the elder was out LBW.

Krishna joined Howe junior and moved the score on to 107 for two before C Howe was out for a superb 75. Sohaib joined Krishna and they hit a quick fire partnership of 50 before Sohaib was out for 25 leaving the Spartans 157 for three.

Morgan joined Krishna and from the start the run rate increased as they put on exactly 100 for the fourth wicket before Krishna was out for 66.

Ten more runs would be added for the loss of two more wickets leaving the Spartans 267 for six and Morgan unbeaten on 44 at the close of the allotted 40 overs.

In reply the home teams innings never really got going as Inan (three for eight) and Hyder (three for 20) ripped the heart out of the batting and with Guarav taking two for 10 and Tom Hickin his first ever first team wicket the Keys were skittled out for just 67 in only 15 overs leaving the Spartans victors by 200 runs.
