TO ROUND off the Vale of Glamorgan Association Football League Finals for the 2015/16 season, the Division One ASRS Cup took place on Sunday, May 14.

A sunny afternoon saw Dinas Powys Athletic take on Penarth Town; with Penarth Town taking an early lead from Alex Donavan.

Penarth were worthy leaders in the first half with Dinas Powys Athletic being kept out with some excellent clearances from corners. A nasty collision between the Dinas Powys Athletic 'keeper and defender saw the defender go off and eventually an ambulance called.

At half-time the game stayed at 1-0 but within the first five minutes of the second half, Dinas Powys Athletic pulled level. With the goal putting them back in the game Dinas Powys Athletic sort to assert their authority and managed to get two more goals in the 65th and 80th minutes.

With the game in the bag an error by the Penarth Town 'keeper gifted a fourth and final goal in the 87th minute to Dinas Powys Athletic. The Dinas Powys Athletic goal scorers were Callum Driscoll, Joe Briscombe and a brace for Jack Preston.

The Vale of Glamorgan Association Football League would like to thank Mike Coslett for presenting the ASRS Cup and to Jason Pawlin, Jeff McInery and the Gratton family in their assistance in re-storing the ASRS Cup.

Jason and Jeff put in a lot of research work to get the names of all winners on the new base which was crafted by the Gratton family.
