THE climax of the Vale Of Glamorgan Division One Football League saw Cogan Coronation Seconds, who were already crowned champions, travel to the home of football at Barry Sports Centre to take on FC Pumas.

Cogan, who were on the back of a seven game unbeaten league run, started the stronger of the two teams and it was only a matter of time before they were on the score sheet again. Rhys Schuster who has been in superb form all season opened the scoring with a close range effort assisted by Sam Wooster, before Danny Humphries got his 29th goal of the season to make it 2-0 to Cogan just before the break.

The second half started in very much the same vain with the Cogan midfield of Lewis Humphries, Kurtis Shapley, Rhys Schuster and Jonny Sadler winning individual battles and dominating the middle of the park. With 60 minutes gone Cogan got their third goal when Lewis Humphries finished off a good team move.

Pumas, who had done very little to trouble Cogan in the first 60 minutes, found a new lease of life and made the defence of Mark Lane, Callum Pearce, Sean Meredith, Cea-Jay Morgan and 'keeper Ed Smith work hard for their clean sheet, in particular Sean making some heroic last ditch tackles which would be more fitting of a final rather than an end of season friendly.

Cogan introduced some fresh legs and brought on Ryan McCarthy, the change made an impact with Cogan regaining their authority allowing Rhys to grab his second and Cogan's fourth goal of the game with 75 minutes gone.

Danny Humphries worked tirelessly up front attempting to get his 30th goal of the season only to be denied with the last kick of the game by the Pumas 'keeper making the final score Cogan 4 - FC Pumas 0.

Cogan would like to thank their sponsors AC Humphries and Sons, Leisure Time and JL Electrical for their support during this successful season.

Results of Cogan's season were player 22; won 16; drew three and lost three.
