A SMALL squad from Cogan leisure centre's full time dojo took part in the 6th IKO Kyokushinkai Kan Europeans championships on June 26 in the city of Sibiu Romania.
The dojo, run by Shihan Lee Costa 7th Dan, travelled down three days before the event to get used to the surroundings and explore the city, while training.
At the competition Cogan Club proudly took home some wins.
Mike Humphries (4th Dan) took a gold in the men's advance senior kata category, Luis Miller (1st Dan) took a bronze in the men's senior Kata category, followed by Ellie Thomas (2nd Kyu) who took a silver in Kata and bronze in her fighting category, 12-13 female juniors.
Lee Costa travelled with the squad as the Kyokushinkai manager and coach and as a representative for Karate Wales Governing Body.
