SULLY Cricket Club 1st XI continued their quest for their divisional title with a convincing 151 run win against Dinas Powys at the common.
Winning the toss Spartans skipper Morgan had no hesitation in electing to bat and from the start Saeed Ali (36) and Krishna Sri (39) took the game to the home side. At 112 for two Ram (26) was joined by Sunny (25) with both playing some lovely shots and they took the score to 140 for four before both were out in quick succession.
Morgan (not out 38) and Jacob (36) built up a steady partnership of 66 taking the score to 206 before Jacob was LBW, and with Sathish (10 not out) joining in, the final score was pushed up to 221 for five from the allotted 40 overs.
In reply the home team had no answer to the excellent bowling of the Spartans with Hyder two for 27 and I Khan two for 14 restricting the opponents to 40 for four. B Richardson two for 19 and star bowler Sathish three for 10, together with a run out ended the game with victory for the Spartans, with an all round team performance.
