MURCH Bowling Club ladies entertained their close neighbours from Penarth Windsor at home.

Having lost to them rather heavily the last time they met this fixture was very keenly contested and Murch managed to secure a win on both rinks with a comfortable overall margin of 13 shots.

Rink 2: P Ayres, A Croom, E Carryer (C) and skip C Tranter - Murch 17, Windsor 13

Final score: Murch 36, Windsor 23

Murch's afternoon league match against Barry Central on July 7 had to be called off as the opposition were unable to play. Murch claimed the points.

Playing away on July 11 to another close neighbouring club, Rectory Road.

Murch won for the first time this season against the Penarth side, but with a very narrow three point margin.

Travelling to Rectory Road for their second meeting on July 12, Murch bowlers were unable to overcome their opposition on both rinks, in spite of a very narrow loss on rink two which managed to keep scores fairly even throughout.

Rink one were overwhelmed but fought hard consistently throughout the match.

Murch were again travelling to Penarth on July 14, for their second meeting with Windsor.

Murch bowlers anticipated a keenly contested match as they had lost to them by one two shots at their previous meeting in May.

They were not disappointed winning two out of the three rinks comfortably and securing an overall score of 48 shots to 39.
