AFC Penarth Under-10s have celebrated a tournament first at the 32nd Welsh International Super Cup after winning all their games and not conceding a single goal.

The under-10s took part in a four day event against established football academies and international teams in the cup.

AFC Penarth goalkeeper Harley Tucker is the first goalkeeper to have kept a clean sheet and had a fantastic tournament alongside the rest of the team.

AFC Penarth played against a talented and gifted Melita Nursery Under-10s from Malta, the attitude and behaviour of both teams was fantastic playing great football in the right way.

At the end of the tournament Melita Nursery presented each Penarth player with a Maltese cross in recognition of the game and then both teams exchanged a signed shirt from all the players.

Both coaches from Melita Nursery have since invited AFC Penarth to visit their football complex in Malta next season.

Shaun Watkins coach of AFC Penarth commented that this team’s journey and adventures continue to develop and demonstrates that through football, children can have many opportunities to enjoy football at all levels of ability.

This team of players and coaches continue to foster key values of team spirit, fair play, and technical development, developing worthy sportsmen who build great relationships wherever they play.

The season ahead sees this team of footballers travelling to Switzerland to meet up with their friends from FC Pully a team that they met in the Barcelona Super Cup in October and then a trip to Malta to meet up with new friends from Melita Nursery.

A big thank you from the team to all parents for the help and support and to sponsors Floor Furnishings Ltd of Cardiff who supplied the tournaments kits.
