ON FRIDAY, August 26, the final stages of the fundraising pool competition was played at Cogan Coronation Club.
Senior members of the Golden Oldies agreed to play a league format, with each donation £1 per game, with the top two players going head-to-head in the final.
Dave Starling and Roy Young were the two players left, with Roy coming out on top.
Players raised more than £200 throughout the competition, which was further contributed to from a raffle and charity box.
The members has nominated Castle Avenue Day Centre to support with the centre requiring a new TV as their current one needed replacing.
Golden Oldies member John Starling obtained a 40 inch television set which was donated to Castle Avenue Day Centre manager Steve Bowen.
Golden Oldies wish to thank everyone that contributed to the fundraising effort and Mel, club steward, for preparing a buffet.
