THE Vale of Glamorgan mini sections kicks-off on Saturday, September 17, with a record amount of teams competing.

On Sunday, September 4, with Cardiff City Advanced Development Centre (ADC) the mini section hosted a showcase for this season's under-7s. The children did not fail to disappoint as they managed to show off their skills in front of the Cardiff coaches and scouts with the cameras from the BBC busy filming.

A child must come into an ADC whatever ability their coach or Cardiff scout think he is, even if it's for one session. The Vale ADC now have an academy coach at every centre to assess their ability and will be fast tracked appropriately.

It is a great opportunity for children and thanks to Cardiff City this link has been set-up due to the fact that the Vale of Glamorgan catchment area has the second most children in the foundation phase of under-7 to under-11.

The mini section will be running showcases with Cardiff throughout the season and last season they saw more Vale youngsters than ever before in the academy.

Under-6s will start on October 2 at Jenner Park at 9am each week.
