THIS week in the Vale of Glamorgan Football League, Vale United remain undefeated and sit six points clear at the top of the Premier Division as they continued their perfect start to the season with a 3 - 2 win over Rhoose.

Cowbridge Town got their first league win of the campaign with a stunning 5 - 1 demolition of Barry Athletic in somewhat of a surprise result. Elsewhere, St Athan and Penarth Town kept in touch with the leaders, St Athan edging out Tynewydd 2 - 1 and Penarth were in seventh heaven as they won 7 - 2 against Masons Moving Group.

Dinas Athletic won a tight affair 3 - 2 against Island Marine.

In the First Division, Barry Belgrade became the new league leaders with a 3 - 0 victory over Cadoxton Athletic while FC Pumas were held 1 - 1 by Dockers. Barry Athletic B saw off Sully Sports 5 - 2.

Second Division leaders Cadoxton Imps continued their 100 per cent start to the season with 3 - 0 triumph over Barry Albion. BVFC drew level on points with Barry Saints in second with a 1 - 0 win over FC Pumas B, while St Athan B won for the second week running with a 3 - 2 victory over Rhoose B.

Finally, Penarth Town B went fourth with 4 - 2 win over Island Marine B.

Next week is a reduced league program with the second round of the Barry Cup. Game of the day in the leagues should be FC Pumas versus Sully Sports in Division One. While in the cup there are several intriguing ties with division two high-fliers Barry Saints looking for a giant killing against Premier Division leaders Vale United, while SP Billy will be looking for second Premier Division upset as they play Rhoose.
