South Wales Women's Cup

Aberdare Ladies 3 - Dinas Powys Ladies 5

DINAS Ladies travelled up the A470 to see if they could replicate the same performance as last year in the cup. With six players unavailable from last week's squad the strength in depth to call on is a credit to this team.

The 'Villagers' set about their task immediately as Laura Murray and Taylor Page gave the Dinas girls a two goal lead within five minutes. Gemma Crowley then delivered a telling cross that looked destine to land on Rachel Beare's head, but an Aberdare player managed to get there first and head home to give the Dinas girls a fully deserved 3 - 0 lead.

A slight mix up in defence gifted the home side a soft goal on 30 minutes before Taylor Page made it four before the break. The second half Dinas dominated the opening 20 minutes as chances kept coming.

Laura May Lewis and Taylor Page were enjoying plenty of the ball wide and showed some great touches. Whilst the middle three of Saunders, Jones, and Crowley continued to play the right way.

Jodi Bowles and Murray worked tireless in the nine role. Losing Rachel Beare to a twisted knee meant a reshuffle in the back four, Vicki Elison didn't disappoint and carried on Beare's fine work. Alex Allen was having a very influential game at the back sweeping up and looking to play out when they could.

Sully Dynamos 2 - Dinas Wolves 9

The visitors got off to a slow start missing their customary number of chances before Bayely Harewood had put them into a two goal lead. Not to be out done Kyle Booker added another two before the break.

The second half saw Dinas put on a better show with another five goals from Kyle Booker (2), Harrison Kelly, Rian Thomas and Robson Mallam finally getting his deserved goal.
