PENARTH Bowling Club’s indoor season continued with two more victories over the past two weeks.

There were successes in the Mixed Match against Llantwit Major and in the men's encounter with Pentyrch.

Saturday, November 12, saw Penarth welcome Llantwit Major to Rectory Road and, although the visitors gave a good account of themselves with one winning rink amongst the four contested, some dominant bowling from the home side ensured success.

Top honours went to Bob and Joan Lewis, Barbara Brown and Berwyn Lansley (28-4). Also well to the fore were Betty and Reg Jones, Chris Church and Claudio Gent (20-9) and Alan Stockham, June Williams, Tony Thomas and Viv Duckers (23-14)

On Wednesday, November 16, Pentyrch were the popular visitors and, despite a spirited display they were not able to make a decisive impact in this match with Penarth successful on all four rinks.

The top rink on this occasion comprised Dave Clements, Alan Stockham, Mike England and Ron Birkby (32-8).

There were also good wins for Dave Dalby, Derrick Musk, John Bowen and Dave Ingram (28-4) and Bob Hill, Nick Thomas, Berwyn Lansley and Brian Knight (26-13).
