Rhiwbina Ladies 0 - Dinas Powys Ladies 6

DINAS Powys Ladies football club continued their fine start to the season and now remain unbeaten going into a busy December following a very impressive display of attacking football and not conceding one goal in November.

After 20 minutes it looked like it was going to be one of those days as Laura Murray, Laura Lewis, Molly Chapman and Nao were all guilty of not finishing when it looked harder to miss.

Lewis had the ball in the back of the net but was adjudged to be offside. This seemed to be the earlier pattern as Rhiwbina played a high line catching the pacey forwards out time and time again.

Murray showed the composure that she possesses and added two quick goals to steady the ship.

Lewis and Chapman both peppered the home sides defence with their pace which was proving too much to handle.

Jo Jones and Samantha Saunders had control of the middle as they were well on top in that battle.

In the second half the girls from Dinas carried on their high tempo approach and soon found themselves again guilty of missing simple chances when players were crying out for a simple square ball.

Gema Crowley had a solid 30 minutes in the nine role and was unlucky not to score.

Demi Bounds soon found herself on the end of a brilliant cross but managed only to strike the post.

Moments later Bounds made sure she found the net as she coolly finished.

Jodi Bowles, Nao and Jo Jones gave the visitors a more respectable score line of 6 - 0 as they all took their chances.

The Dinas defence has grown in strength with every game and they proved too strong for the Cardiff team as they held strong to the counter attacks.

Dinas never took their foot off the gas and Chapman was like a girl possessed as her unselfish running and desire to win was there to see.

The ladies have certainly put Dinas back on the map this season and the spirit amongst them all is a credit to their hard work at training.

Players of the match were Samantha Saunders and Molly Chapman.
