HAVING won the Vale Schools Cross-Country event in November, Evenlode Primary School competed in the South Wales counties finals.
In a team based running event the school entered boys and girls teams in each of the Year 5 and Year 6 events.
All teams ran well on the day with most competitors finishing in the top 25 from a large competitive event encompassing all the winning schools from each of the South Wales counties they represented.
Special mention should be given to the Year 6 boys team who all finished in the top 15 runners, with their star athlete being Daniel Ingram who won the overall event by a considerable margin to become South Wales Champion 2016 - Year 6 Boys.
Special thanks should be given to the staff at Evenlode, Emma Thomas who coaches, arranges all events and takes a weekly running club helped by Sam Almond.
