AFC Porth 0 v Dinas Powys Ladies FC 10

DINAS Powys Ladies 'Villagers' are now more than half-way through the season and are now looking like a complete unit. Coming quickly out of the blocks, Laura Murray, Laura Lewis and Rachel Beare were all very close to giving the visitors the lead within five minutes.

The prolific Dinas striker Murray, did however, make amends and showed composure to turn her marker and slotted home from 15 yards. She then doubled the lead moments later.

Lewis, having rushed back from a weekend break, hit a hat-trick within 20 minutes showing she can score as well as assist.

Nao was seeing a lot of the ball and managed to break into the box to score the sixth. Skipper Leanne Pattermore added the seventh from the spot following a handball in the box.

Dinas were in full control and now Hayley Imperato, in her second spell with the club, thought she would get in on the act adding the eighth, showing hard work and a serious diet is paying off.

Gemma Crowley cutting across her defender slotted home from close range to give the visitors a comfortable 9 - 0 lead at the break.

A lot of things could have happened in the second half and Porth could have been guilty of throwing the towel in, but the young Black Dragons put in a very promising shift as they regrouped during the break and came out in the second half with a point to prove.

The home side played a high line which caught the 'Villagers' out time and time again. Beare and Page managed to find the space and linked up the play.

The second half wore on as Dinas stayed tight and organised ensuring another clean sheet. As the clock ran down Murray managed to grab her hat-trick.

Player of the match was Laura Lewis for her very well taken hat-trick and plenty of assists.

A big thank you to all players and officials from both clubs for the minutes silence following the sad death of Mark Watkins. The thoughts of all one the team go out to Irene and his family.
