IN THE month of January, Penarth Bridge Club play the Club Pairs Championships.
The Club Pairs Handicap Championship was won by Viv Duckers and Alan Lightbody and the Pairs 'Rose Bowl' Championship was won by Tony Campbell and Brian Hardey.
The 'Rose Bowl' final event was a close contest with Anne Johns and Joy Secular winning the round two stage but when the points from round one were added on, they found they had lost by only one MP.
Round one winners, Peter Millar and Mike Best, came third overall.
The next big event will be the Rose’s Spring League. The three round contest starts on Friday, February 10, and runs every Friday until February 24.
The club continues to run a beginners session on a Thursday morning from 11am until 2pm.
