PENARTH Bowling Club were in an uncompromising mood on Wednesday, January 18, in the only match played over the past seven days.
Yet again, the overwhelming factor of home advantage was all too evident in the final score line.
In the event, there was a thoroughly pleasant atmosphere throughout a very friendly game with the visitors, Pentrych BC, striving hard but making little significant headway.
Captain Alan Stockham’s select foursome lead the way with Ron Birkby, Berwyn Lansley and skip Dave Clements triumphant by 31 - 4.
Close behind was Bob Lewis, aided by Derrick Musk, Claudio Gent and Tony Thomas (32-6) who were also well in command as were Nick and Guy Thomas, Phil Davidge and young Don Butler (27-4) whilst Clive Fry, showing a little more compassion for the opposition, also weighed in with a 22 - 12 victory, ably supported by Phil Davies, Russell Daniel and “Bowen The Books”.
