DURING February at Penarth Bridge Club, members played the Rose’s League Event, in memory of Rose Brannon a former member of the club.

The result over the three League evenings, was a win for Eric Favager and Mike Downey with Peter Millar and Jane Brooks in second place.

After the third round the members enjoyed a buffet organised by membership secretary Hazel Craig.

On March 3, club members played in the Welsh Bridge Union Spring simultaneous pairs.

At the club the session was won by Tony Ratcliff and Trish Tracey who scored 82 per cent while the second place was Eric and Mike with 59 per cent.

As this event was being held throughout Wales the results were submitted to the WBU and at the moment Tony and Tricia lead the field with 77 per cent from the second placed pair from Kingston Bridge Club who scored 68 per cent.

The WBU Sims was the last event in the Victor Ludorum run by the club. It is a trophy won by the most successful member in six events held throughout the year. When all the scores were added up Joy Secular was the Victor Ludorum.

The club continues to run a beginners session on a Thursday morning from 11am to 2pm.

Penarth Bridge Club welcomes all beginners who wish to learn more about the game.

If you would like to play at the Kymin on Tuesday and/or Friday nights please contact membership secretary Hazel on 029 2051 4719 and/or view the website at bridgewebs.com/penarth
