PLAYING away in the evening league to their nearest neighbouring club for the second time in this league this season. the Murch bowlers won on both rinks against Rectory Road on June 26 to secure a very comfortable margin of 44 shots to 33 overall with rink two ladies contributing most to the winning score.
The players on rink one were K Macleod, A Allan, E Carryer, C Tranter (skip) and Murch won 20-18
On rink two the players were C Real, S Hughes, S Mauchline, M Clake (skip) with Murch winning 24-15.
In the afternoon league, Murch bowlers entertained the Barry club Millwood on June 28 for the first time this season and proved to be too strong for the opposition even with a player short on two rinks.
Rink two, Murch narrowly lost by half a point because of the adjusted score while the rink three ladies managed a significant win of 20 and three quarter shots in spite of it.
The final score was Murch 53 and a quarter to Millwood 30 shots.
The players on rink one were C Hougardy, M Rice, P Ayres (capt), S Mauchline (skip) with Murch winning 15-12.
On rink two were C Real, S Hughes, A Crouch (skip) with Murch losing 13 and a half to 14.
On rink three were K McLeod, E Carryer and M Clake (skip) with Murch winning 24 and three quarter shots to four.
