The WINDSOR Bowling Club men again recorded good wins in both PG matches and the Munro Cup, losing only to Whitchurch in the Alliance.

The PG1 team, despite several absentees, comfortably beat Mackintosh 95/64.

Matthews, Burton, Gunter and Holmes won 35-8. Evans, Johnson, Hope and Woodcock won 21-20 and Ellard, Rees, Thorne and Close won 21-16.

The other rink of Flitney, Rogers, Hudson and McLeod lost on the last end 18-20.

The PG2 team extended their winning run against Rhiwbina by 85/82.

Fullbrook, Mathias, Hales, Howells drew 21-21. Davies A. Brenton, Daniel, Davies D won 25-13.

Owen, White, Cucciniello, Woodcock lost 13-29 and Trenchard, Dudley, Coleman, Lewis won 26/19.

Another Munro Cup win, away to Sully Sports by 21 shots.

Owen, Lewis, Hope, Woodcock M won 23-16.

Matthews, Latham, Thorne, Hudson won 26-6.

Peregrine, Palfrey, Gooding, Close lost 12-22.

Hales, Flitney, Morrish, McLeod won 16-14.

Richard Flitney peaked early, bowling his best wood on a trial end. Having then declared that "bowls was an easy game", he spent the rest of the game failing to prove it.

Two other results are worthy of mention. In the Alan Martin cup, an away victory at Penarth by 43-29.

Flitney, Burton, Close McLeod won 30-9, Matthews, Gunter, Hudson Holmes lost 13-20.

In the private greens single rink, there was an excellent win 27-12 against Cardiff.

The rink was Matthews, Flitney, Close and Woodcock.

The ladies only had one match this week and they went down by two shots against Penarth despite an excellent performance by K. Dyer with C. Lewis, V. Flitney and D. Roper winning 16-11.

On Sunday, the Windsor was the scene of the annual fun day.

This year, the clubhouse took on a Caribbean look and the bowlers took to the green to play in their pirates garb.

The whole event was superbly organised by club president Veronica Flitney with massive help from so many club members.
