CAPTAIN'S day only comes around once a year which is probably a good thing taking account of the weather conditions which always seem to prevail.

This year was no exception as captain Mike Conway did everything right except the weather. Appalling conditions resulted in split opinions between outdoors, indoors and the bar.

The photos tell the tale of what turned out to be an eventful afternoon. No results of the bowling are available because nobody really cared. The only winner was the scrumptious meal served up by the ever attentive ladies of the club and the vote of thanks offered by captain Mike was duly applauded.

Several members attempted to entertain during the post dinner refreshments and maybe the least said the better.

However it must be said that treasurer John Bowen received huge applause and laughter which is only normally matched by his annual AGM report of the finances of the club.

The match reports are taking second place this week it is difficult for your scribe to focus on the numbers, etc.

Nevertheless, it is good to report that two PG1 wins against Cardiff Ath & Sully Sports were supported by two Munro Cup successes against Dinas Powis and Millwood.

The ladies must take prime spot with a resounding trouncing of the arch enemy ( Windsor ) by 58 shots to a meagre 37. Obviously their catering skills are only surpassed by their skills on the bowling green.
