DINAS Powys Golf Club recently held the club championships and yet again Dale Sullivan has captured the title of division one.
In a storming match Sullivan outgunned Dominic Jones to win his fifth championship in seven seasons.
The other divisions saw veteran Richard Hird defeat Brian Thomas comfortably and Andrew Jones taking the third tier title from Nick Osborne.
After a gruelling qualifying set up of two stroke play rounds and quarter and semi final match plays, the 36 hole finals really require immense concentration and true grit and determination to succeed.
Last weekend saw the captains monthly four ball better ball Stableford competition.
The winners were Liam Farbrace and Lozza Lawrence with a monumental 48 points.
The nearest to that was 46 points but a fantastic score by the pair no less.
On Saturday the Glamorgan Silver Salver better ball pairs competition takes place with the following week being the Col Gore trophy.
The club would like to extend its congratulations to former captain Simon Berni on his marriage to Colleen last weekend at the clubhouse. A wonderful day was enjoyed by all in the day and night.
