BOTH Sully Spartans first and second team games were called off due to the heavy overnight rain on Friday making the outfields and surrounds unplayable.
On Tuesday a GE/Spartans midweek team played the Welsh Government in a low scoring T20 game played in the best of spirits.
Spartans batted first and at 60 for 9 the game looked liked being over very quickly.
Morgan 22 not out and Burns 12 not out with a partnership of 35 pushed the score to a reasonable 95 for 9 on a low and damp track and it was game on.
WG had as much trouble batting as the combined team had with Davies 2 for 15 and Sathish 2 for 12 pegging the opposition back.
A run out from Morgan and a wicket from Inam and Ben left the game in the balance, but an excellent 25 not out from Sandesh took WG over the winning line with two balls to spare and a three wicket win.
Ge/Spartans 95 for 9
Morgan 22 not out
Burns 12 not out
WG 96 for 7
Sathish 2 for 12
Davies
2 for 15
This Thursday the Spartans are away at Nantgarw in a T20 game
This Saturday the second team travel to Merthyr hoping to clinch promotion and the divisional title.
The first team are at home to Blaengarw with the same scenario as the second team.
