THE Windsor Bowling Club PG1 team picked up 10 league points in defeating Penarth by 100 to 65. The visitors gave a spirited display and managed to win on two rinks. There was a mammoth win for vaptain Matt which included a full house of eight shots on one end. The victory for Windsor means that they only need to pick up four points from their remaining three matches to gain promotion whilst Penarth still have an outside chance of going up with them. Scores were Evans, Gooding, Hope and Woodcock 41-10, Flitney, Palfrey, Hudson and McLeod 20-10, Matthews, Burton, Gunter and Holmes 19-22 and Rogers, Ellard, Rees and Close 20-23.

Not to be outdone, the PG2 team came away from Sophia Gardens with an excellent win over Cardiff by 18 shots. Meredith, Johnson, Woodcock and Davies D. 22-13. Davies A, Daniel, Latham and Lewis 24-9, Owens, Hailes, Morrish and Howells 20-15 and Trenchard, Dudley, Coleman and Thorne 13-24. Star billing this week goes to Tommy Owens with a brilliant display of lead bowling. It will do no harm to his constant demands for a PG1 place.

The alliance team maintained their record for the season with yet another defeat but as they always say; the alliance games are not all about winning. It was a big defeat to a strong Penylan team but there was a rink win for Stafford, Brenton, Johnson and Morgan.

The last Munroe Cup game of the season ended in a home loss to Dinas Powys. The only winning rink was Evans, Palfrey, Hope and Woodcock M. It has only been a moderately successful season for the Munroe Cup team but it has at least given a number of the newer club bowlers a chance to experience a higher level of bowls than they normally enjoy.

Last but not least to the ladies and it was yet another fine win for the afternoon league team at home to Kenfig and Pyle. A 24-7 win for Moyra Owen with J. Williams, B. Dunlop and V. Flitney ensured an eight shot victory despite narrow rink losses for S. Howells, L. Thomas, C. Gunter D. Thomas and for C. Davies, C. Fitzgerald, D. Roper, K. Dyer.
