SULLY Spartans wound up their midweek T20 season on Thursday with an eight wicket win over GE.
Winning the toss, GE elected to bat first and from the start the spin bowling of Tom Burns soon had the away side in trouble and he finished with excellent figures of 3 for 12. Tibin with 2 for 9 continued the stranglehold on the batsmen.
Sathish and Inam with a wicket kept the GE score line in check and with two run outs and a further wicket for Saiful the final total reached 94 in the 19th over.
In response the Spartans lost a early wicket with the score on 12. but Morgan ( 20 ) and Tibin (30) retired pushed the score to 52 before Morgan was well bowled.
A further wicket went down before Saiful not out (18) and Sathish not out (10) took the Spartans past the winning post.

Both first and second team opposition teams conceded the games to the Spartans on Saturday so as Newport Fugitives were in the same position a friendly game was arranged.
Losing the toss the Spartans were asked to field a decision the Spartans would have taken had they won the toss/
Process was slow for the Fugitives on a pitch lacking bounce and with a outfield which had plenty of grass cuttings still on it.
The wickets were spread evenly amongst the bowlers with Jacob 2 for 15, Sathish 2 for 19, Inam 2 for 21 , Morgan 2 for 16 and Saneesh 1 for 21, leaving the Fugis after the 40 overs 155 for 9.
In Response veteran Andrew Davies (25) and Saeed (30) with an excellent first wicket partnership of 60 pushed the Spartans to victory and this was continued by Tibin with an excellent 43 and a quick fire 14 from Rameesh.
Inam with 13 not out saw the Spartans home to win in the 30th over by six wickets.
