A WEATHER affected schedule saw only a handful of games played in the Vale of Glamorgan Senior Football League this weekend.
SP Billy failed to close the gap on leaders Sully Sports as they suffered a 2-0 loss to Cogan Coronation, whose victory moves them up to fourth place in the top flight. Tynewydd lost ground after a 2-1 to Cadoxton Athletic, while down at the bottom of Division One, Penarth Town B edged out Cadoxton Imps 3-2.
In Division Two, St Athan B picked up their second win of the season to beat Vale Madrid 3-1, who were leapfrogged into second place by Llantwit Major, who maintained their perfect start to the season with a 5-0 hammering of BV.
Vale interests in the SWFA Cup are over after all three remaining Vale clubs crashed out of the competition. Island Marine lost out 6-2 to AFC Whitchurch, Cardiff Airport were thrashed 5-0 by Cwm Welfare, while Vale United narrowly lost out to Penrhiwceiber Cons 2-1.
A full league programme returns next week, with the game of the day undoubtedly in the Premier Division as FC Barry Belgrade host league leaders Barry Athletic.
