LAST Wednesday saw the resumption of friendly matches at Rectory Road following the Christmas break with Penarth Bowling Club playing hosts to the Murch.
In a very friendly game in which both teams played well it was the home side which prevailed in the end and, showing little of the festive spirit in terms of the result, they eventually won on all four rinks in a game where the score belied a spirited contribution from the visitors and flattered Penarth to some extent.
Scores: Tony Thomas, Phil Davies, Bob Willmott, Clive Fry: 29-7.
Russell Daniel, Derrick Musk, Nick Thomas, Dave Dalby: 22-9.
Brian Knight, Tony Gent, Mike England, Rob Grant : 21-8.
Ron Birkby, Phil Davidge, Colin Hicks, Bob Lewis: 24-7.
