A MEMBER of Windsor Bowls Club in Penarth is set to represent Wales in the Commonwealth Games.

Emma Woodcock is getting ready to fly to Australia to compete in the lawn green bowls competitions in the Gold Coast this April.

She hails from mid Wales originally but has since moved to Penarth with her husband Matthew.

She will be supported in Australia by her mother, father, sister in the month long campaign.

Her husband Matthew is also a Welsh international player and will also be a keen spectator.

He has been quick to lavish praise on their mentor and coaches Eddie Thorne and Arty Woodcock.

Eddie Thorne is unable to make it to Australia but they will be in daily contact to keep him up to date with their progress.

All members of Windsor Bowls Club wish Emma every success and as a member of the finest ladies section Emma knows the Windsor blue stockings will be cheering loudest of all in front of their TV screens.

Should a medal ensue, the ladies amenity fund will sponsor the unbridled celebrations at the Windsor club where Roger Ellis, Clive Palfrey and Bryn Peregrine will be to the fore.

Go to it Emma and have a most enjoyable and triumphant Australian lifetime experience.
