DAVID Moffett appears to have returned to New Zealand ahead of the emergency general meeting of the Welsh Rugby Union.

The former WRU chief executive was instrumental in the calling of an EGM after campaigning against the current board.

However, the 66-year-old has grown disillusioned at the lack of support, quit Twitter and posted a statement on his website that he would not be heading to Port Talbot on the weekend.

?Well, I wish all those that attend the EGM on Sunday the best of luck,? it read. ?This is my last communication. Thanks for the support (or opposition).?

While Moffett, who was at the helm when regional rugby was introduced, had ideas in his ?One Wales? manifesto that plenty of clubs agreed with, many found it hard to back the man that was putting them forward.

The EGM goes on and a number of clubs will raise their concerns about some of the WRU?s decisions, the most pressing of which is the restructuring of the Swalec Leagues.
