WALES star Aaron Ramsey is determined to help Arsenal challenge for the Premier League title next season after picking up his second successive FA Cup winner’s medal on Saturday.

Ramsey, who scored the winning goal at Wembley against Hull City 12 months ago, was part of a dominant display as the Gunners crushed Aston Villa 4-0 to lift the trophy for a record 12th time.

The 24-year-old will now switch his attention to Wales’ crucial Euro 2016 qualifier against Belgium at the Cardiff City Stadium on June 12.

But, looking ahead to next season, Ramsey insists he wants to win the title with Arsene Wenger’s side despite rumours of a £50m move to Barcelona.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, who made the same move from North London to the Catalan giants, admits it is hard to say no to Barca.

But Ramsey dismissed the link before the demolition of Villa and talked up a title tilt after a second successive FA Cup victory.

“That is an amazing thing to do,” said Ramsey after defending the trophy. “Not many teams have achieved that and it's quite an achievement from this group of players.

“We really wanted to win something again this year and we managed to do that.

“Hopefully it puts us in a good place to go into next season and challenge for the Premier League.

“This is what this club should be doing every season – winning something. We've managed to do that now and we just want to keep this going.”

Henry is a big fan of Ramsey and, speaking at the Football Association of Wales National Coaches Conference at Newport’s Celtic Manor this weekend, he warned that the lure of the Nou Camp is hard to resist.

“The first time Barcelona came to me I had the whole season to think about it and as soon as the season finished I said I was staying,” said Henry, who rejected Barca in 2006 before making the move to Spain 12 months later.

“In the end I left and Barcelona is Barcelona but, as an Arsenal man, I obviously don’t want him to leave.

“He has become a man this season. He is maturing as a player and the future looks bright for him at Arsenal.

“Only him and his family can judge what is right for him but right now, as a Gooner myself, we are happy to have him.”
