NATIONAL manager Chris Coleman says he’s flattered by reports linking him to Aston Villa and his hometown club Swansea City but insists he’s totally committed to Wales.

Coleman goes into the friendly double-header against Northern Ireland tonight and Ukraine on Monday with talks over his new contract to take Wales into the 2018 World Cup qualifiers on hold.

Those discussions will resume next month but Coleman says his sole focus at the moment is ensuring that Wales enjoy a successful Euro 2016.

"It's always nice if you see there's someone interested," said Coleman.

"There's loads of good managers out of work and there's only so many jobs.

"But my focus is here, it has always been. I haven't worked this hard to get to where we are to start thinking about something else.

"I'm the manager of Wales. We've got Northern Ireland, Ukraine then Sweden then we go into a tournament, which is where we've always wanted to be."

Coleman admitted earlier this week that a new deal may not be agreed before the summer but he says the issue won’t be a distraction for him or the players.

“We’ve worked so hard to get here and it’s all about the tournament and doing as well as we can in this tournament,” he said.

“What comes after this tournament is in the future but we’ve got to concentrate on this.

“I think my relationship with the players is good enough that we’re just focused on what’s in front of us.

“Right the way through the campaign it was always about the next game.

“There will be rumours outside of our camp because the contract is not agreed and I can’t help that, nobody can.

“All I can do is say that I’m totally focused on Wales. I’m totally committed, as I’ve always been, and looking forward to these games coming up and building towards the tournament that we’ve worked so hard to get to. That’s all that matters.

“If I wasn’t going to be the Welsh manager I’m not going to go before the tournament starts,” he added.

“If, God forbid, I’m not the Welsh manager it will be at the end of the tournament.

“And I’m not saying that’s going to be the case. I’m here now and I’m looking forward to what’s coming.

“I’ve always said that if things were right then I’d absolutely love to have a crack at the World Cup campaign.

“But at the minute we are where we are and I’m totally focused on the game that’s in front of me.”
