WILL Talbot-Davies, Jared Rosser and Christian Coleman will take to the field at the City Park Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday when Wales Under-18s face South Africa Schools in the annual Under-19 International Series (3pm).

The Dragons youngsters line up at full-back, left wing and tighthead prop respectively, while regional teammates Joe Thomas and Owain Leonard start on the bench.

Wales, captained by second row Callum Bradbury, are joined in the series by sides from England, France, Italy and the host nation.

After Saturday's opening match, head coach Geraint Lewis’ teenagers will then play Italy at Bishops College on Tuesday before taking on South Africa Schools A at Paarl Boys High School next Saturday.

The Welsh squad arrived in South Africa on Tuesday and have been in Stellenbosch preparing for their first game in the series.

Preparations have included a joint training session with England Under-18s and the squad are now looking forward to their clash with the hosts.

The series is an important element in the transition between under-18s and under-20s rugby, and many of the players will be vying for inclusion in next year’s U20s programme.

Lewis said: “South Africa is a great rugby playing nation and their schools rugby is as strong as any nation in the world.

“They have only ever lost one game in this tournament and that was to a strong England side, so we will need to be at our best to compete.”
