RHYS Webb insists finishing the Six Nations strongly in France is all that’s on his mind after the Wales scrum-half made a major statement in Lions year.

The Ospreys ace has enjoyed a superb Championship and was in stunning form against Ireland’s Conor Murray, said to be favourite for the British and Irish Lions number 9 jersey in New Zealand this summer.

Webb was named as official man of the match for his exploits in the 22-9 win against the Irish at Principality Stadium and can make another big statement in Paris on Saturday.

"My main focus is on France next week, and whatever happens, happens," Webb said. "I am just enjoying myself.

"I know what it is like to miss out on big tournaments - I missed out on the World Cup in 2015 (through injury) - so I just take each game as it comes, and the more I do that, the more I enjoy my rugby.

"I have got every confidence in my own ability. I know what I can do. I am feeling good. I am feeling fit."

Wales responded to their Murrayfield mauling with a super win to dash Ireland’s title hopes and successfully avoid a potential World Cup group of death, their place in the top eight of the global rankings assured when the draw for Japan 2019 is made.

They head into the final round in third place and with Webb demanding they finish with a flourish.

"We know as individuals that we are good players and we believe in ourselves, and to produce a performance like that - three tries to zero - against a strong, quality Ireland team is not bad is it?" said Webb.

"We go to France now, who are one of the best attacking teams in the Six Nations, and we need to prepare well and finish strong.

"We knew as a collective that we were only fine margins away - little off-loads, discipline - those sort of things.

"We believe in ourselves and we go out there to win. We definitely owed the fans a win, and the support was unbelievable."
