Cole hopes baby is Strictly on time

Brendan Cole is "excited" about becoming a father, but hopes his baby doesn't come early.

The Strictly Come Dancing star announced on Twitter last month that he and wife Zoe, 31, are expecting their first child together.

Brendan told the Daily Mirror: "It's due in January - after Strictly has ended. Well, that's the plan, if it comes before then, who knows, there might be a clash..."

The 36-year-old dancer is already getting some practice looking after kids running summer camp, the Brendan Cole Dance Academy.

He said: "Seeing the children come out of their shell and grow in confidence is amazing.

"When you watch them having so much fun - some of them as young as five - you realise 'this is going to be us soon, we're going to have one of these' and it becomes a bit more real."

Brendan added: "It's brilliant news. we're very excited and nervous - but mostly excited at this stage.

"We're trying to enjoy it and I'm very happy to say that I'm going to be a first-time dad. We've had our 12-week scan but we're still not sure if we're going to find out the sex yet. We've still got to have a few discussions about that one."
