A NEW theatrical performance debuts soon.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat will have six performances by Tredegar Amateur Operatic Society in September.

The performance celebrates 95 years since the Society's first production Joseph along with celebrating 50 years since Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat was first released.

Unlike other versions of the biblical piece, it will feature an adult cast, with 30 actors and a 12 piece orchestra.

It will be performed at Beaufort Theatre, in Ebbw Vale, at 7pm from September 11 to September 15, with an extra show - featuring a matinee - at 2.30pm on the Saturday.

46 children from Blaenau Gwent Young Stars, Encore Theatre Academy and Toppers School of Dance and Drama will make up the children's choir, in what promises to be a spectacular performance.

The Society stages an annual production, with recent ones including Hairspray, Sister Act, All Shock Up, Jesus Christ Superstar and Singin' in the Rain.

Tickets cost £12 and can be purchased by phoning 07704 938624.
