A DIRECTORS first all talking production will premiere soon.
Sharon Davies makes her debut as a director for Newport Playgoers Society next month, with her version of Last of The Summer Wine by Roy Clarke.
The play is based on the sitcom, which was the world's longest running sitcom, running from 1973 until 2010.
Ms Davies' performance will be based on the series, which focused on three elderly men in their autumn years refusing to grow up.
Ms Davies is the National Operatic and Drama Association rep for this area, and directed her first full musical in 2003.
This performance will be her first all talking production and has seven cast members.
"I find I am still waiting for the singing to start," admitted Ms Davies.
"This is going to be a baptism of fire, as the subject is well known. Although, this is not a classic episode from Last of the Summer Wine, so I hope the audience will appreciate it, as we have all worked incredibly hard.”
The performance will focus on an evening of entertainment, disturbed by a "mysterious flasher" stalking the neighbourhood, leading to havoc.
Last of The Summer Wine is on at The Dolman Theatre from September 11 until September 15.
The performance will be at 7.15pm Tuesday until Friday, and 2.30pm on Saturday.
Tickets are available at www.dolmantheatre.co.uk or by calling 01633 263670.
