Musician Tokio Myers has said he feels like a “boxer getting ready for a fight” since winning Britain’s Got Talent.

The 33-year-old from London wowed audiences and judges on the ITV show earlier this year with his piano skills, remixing hits with stunning visual effects.

Months later, he has completed his debut album, Our Generation.

Attending the star-studded ITV Gala at the London Palladium on Thursday night, he told the Press Association: “It’s mental.

“It has been an incredible experience. I went from nothing much happening to now every day something happening, so I am just in a really happy place.

“I feel like a boxer walking down the street ready for the fight – everybody’s saying, ‘Go on, do it, smash it up’, so it has been amazing.”

He revealed he wanted to share his newfound success with other up-and-coming artists by sharing his platform in the public eye.

“I wanted to go down the Disclosure route, like when Sam Smith came out in Latch but nobody then knew who he was,” he said.

“I’ve got friends on this album who are amazing.

“Maybe next year I might be able to collaborate with people that everybody knows already.

“Being a household name is the long-term dream but it’s early days. There is a list of dream collaborations.”
