THE New Theatre proudly presents a medley of some of the best youth contemporary dance happening in Cardiff.

This co production between the New Theatre’s Arts Active and Rubicon Dance brings four challenging and energetic pieces of dance to the New Theatre stage.

The highlight of the evening will be the premier of two new contemporary dance pieces created only that week during the intensive Dawns Haf summer course when the team of young dancers have a truly stimulating exhausting and inspiring week working with and learning from two choreographers - Wayne Parsons and Jem Treays with support from a full production team. As always the finale of the summer school week is a glittering performance at the New Theatre, Dawns Haf , August 9, with live music to be provided by a newly formed ensemble of young musicians from the city playing two specially commissioned pieces by composer Helen Woods.

Rubicon Dance’s second year fulltime dance trainees will perform two pieces: Extracts from Dig originally created by American choreographer Terry Beck, and a new piece Dreamers that commemorates the 1st world war taking as inspiration some of the most evocative poetry, visual arts and music of the time.
