THE Dinas Powys Fringe Festival is taking place this week.
The community event is in its second year and is run by Murchfield Community Association, the charity that manages the Murchfield Community Centre in Dinas Powys for the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
The not-for-profit event has events all week and organisers are hoping for a better attendance this year.
The events are as follows:
Wednesday, May 27 – Free music workshops all day and folk night in the evening with Slipstone, Tom Fitton and Andy and Steve
Thursday, May 28 – Live music – Billy Bottle and Martine, Sion Russell Jones and Thee Manatees
Friday, May 29 – Rock and roll night with Penarth band Lewis Clayton and The Cyclones
Saturday, May 30 – Film double bill with Dinas Powys Community Cinema – Dark Horse in the afternoon and High Tide in the evening followed by a Q&A session with Jimmy Hay one of the writers and Melanie Walters who stars (Gwen in Gavin and Stacey).
