DINAS Powys Players are pleased to announce their spring production which will be performed at the Parish Hall, Britway Road from April 14-16.

Frank Vickery’s one act and three act plays featuring Valley people, their lives and humour have been very popular with audiences during the groups 50 year history, so much so that many have been repeated after original production.

For the spring production this year the Players have selected Trivial Pursuits, first presented by Frank Vickery at the Parc and Dare Theatre in 1987 and subsequently at the Duke of York Theatre in London. The Dinas Powys Players then presented it at the Parish Hall, Britway Road in 1992.

The setting is the Trealaw and District Operatic Society’s meeting to announce casting and plum roles for four different people and the complex relationship between players emerge as moments of pure slapstick and farce with ones of real drama and pathos. Totally fictional of course with no similarity with Dinas Powys Players past or present.

The group is confident that Trivial Pursuits will be enjoyed again by those who saw the original Parish Hall production almost 25 years ago, as it will be by those new to it.

Rehearsals are well advanced under the experienced and firm control of Catherine Cook who is directing for the Players for the first time.

The cast includes Graham and Cynth Russell, Sue Gibbons, Annie Orchard and Pat Tadecicco who appeared in the 1992 presentation together with Andrew Gibbons, Tara Garmston, Maurice Lawrence, Georgy Mintowt-Czyz and Phil Sage

Trivial Pursuits will be presented at the Parish Hall, Britway Road, Dinas Powys on Thursday, April 14, Friday 15 and Saturday 16 at 7.30pm.
