A DOUBLE-BILL of talent treads the monthly Monday performance platform at All Saints Church, Penarth, on Monday, April 10, at 1pm.

The third concert of this year’s series introduces gospel singer, hymn-writer and novelist Ruthie Thomas in a programme of gospel music.

Ruthie published her first hymns and songs in Reflecting Praise with Stainer and Bell Ltd in 1993, a hymn book championing women’s contributions to hymnody.

She has also published two novels for children and in 2011 released the CD Heaven Direct with musician and producer John Hamilton.

Ruthie is accompanied by Penarth pianist, and local piano tuner, Nigel Morton.

Pianist Lucas Dwyer, who has performed regularly at the All Saints lunchtime concert series in recent years, also makes a welcome return to All Saints.

Since being a pupil at Stanwell School, Lucas has been studying at Trinity College of Music in London, under renowned Russian concert pianist Alexander Ardakov.

Lunchtime concerts at All Saints Church are free and provide a relaxed environment to listen to top-class music. Bring your own lunch and a friend.

Teas and coffees will be available and doors open from 12.30pm.
