TWO PENARTH women have raised more than £1,000 for children’s hospice Ty Hafan by holding a Christmas raffle.
After previously raising nearly £5,000 back in 2011 through raffles and a Christmas fair, Claire Roach and Vicky Dimond decided to do another Christmas raffle this year.
“We only had four weeks to organise it,” said Victoria.
“We were extremely thankful for the generosity of local businesses around the Vale, especially Edmundson Electrical of Barry who donated a 22inch HD TV.
“Marcus Mulot, of the St Fagans pub in Penarth, also donated wonderful prizes and put on a DJ for entertainment on Sunday, December 15.
“There was a fantastic turn out and we raised a wonderful £1,239.”
She added: “Claire and I love what our local hospice provide and do, and we hope this will help them for over Christmas. Thanks to everyone that helped and donated.”
