AN ANIMAL loving Penarth runner is set to take part in the Paris Marathon in aid of Cardiff Dogs Home.
Helen Griffiths, a member of Penarth and Dinas Runners, is set to tackle the 26.2mile marathon on Sunday, April 6
“Training has gone well and I’m looking at completing it in four hours,” she said.
“I'm a new volunteer to Cardiff Dog's Home and I've really been enjoying taking the more energetic dogs for runs over Cardiff Bay Barrage.
“They have helped me with my training by giving me a reason to get outside and run when I'm feeling lazy.
“I'd like to help them in return and raise awareness and funds for them.”
Helen, who is also set to run the Boston Marathon two weeks after, added:“As they've recently achieved official charity status it would be a good start to their fundraising too.”
